The Largest Selection of
Antique Rugs in Dallas
Persian, Turkish, Indian and More
When Farzin Ghalibaf came to the United States, he brought family tradition and a passion for fine antique and decorative rugs. For four generations Farzin’s family ran the rug factory that his great-great-grandfather started in Tabriz, Persia. In 1994 this European raised entrepreneur made his way to Dallas and decided to open his own rug business. Farzin Rugs, Inc. is now a well-know fixture in the Dallas design scene and a trusted source for the finest quality.
His beautiful showroom, located on Slocum Street in the heart of the Dallas Design District, offers a brilliantly edited collection of antique, semi-antique, and old Oriental rugs unlike any in North Texas. Rather than sifting through hundreds of rugs and tapestries, clients rely on Farzin’s eye, which reflects his own passion for and knowledge of Serapi, Hariz, Tabriz, Oushaks, and other major rug-making regions of the world.
Another reason Farzin stands a cut above other rug merchants in the region is that he is not just a successful business man, but a specialist in his field. With a degree in design, Farzin is a trusted source for designers, architects, and homeowners. While designers and architects make up 90% of Farzin Rugs’ clientèle, the general public is also welcome. For those interested in knowing more about Oriental and decorative rugs, Farzin is always willing to personally educate all potential buyers with as much history and information as available on each piece.
His wonderful staff of employees specializes in repairs to hand-woven rugs and tapestries. Farzin’s extensive knowledge is the reason clients have been turning to him for over 15 years. Small wonder that his family name, Ghalibaf, means “rug maker.”
